YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio –A couple is mourning the loss of a 3-day-old baby boy who was mauled to death by the family dog. The incident occurred in a Youngstown, Ohio home after the infant was placed in a laundry basket that was being used as a make-shift crib. .
According to reports, the boy’s mother was taking a nap on the couch and woke up to find her newborn covered in blood. The woman called 911 and told the dispatcher that she believed one of the family dogs had bitten her son in the head.
Paramedics arrived at the home and the boy was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police say the suspected dog has been quarantined. No charges have been filed.

NORTH CAROLINA – A 36-year-old woman was killed after a dog she adopted only a week ago mauled her to death.
Suzanne Story, a North Carolina mom was pronounced dead at her Snug Harbor home Wednesday afternoon after being brutally attacked by her pit bull.
According to her family, Story had adopted the dog from Virginia after finding an ad in a newspaper. Story was allegedly told that the dog was very well behaved, trained and would be a great pet for kids.
“I think they had a problem with the dog and didn’t know how to handle it, and they were just trying to get rid of it, and they did,” Story’s stepfather told 13 News Now.
“I just think that the people that pawned the dog off on these people need to be held responsible,” he added.
Story’s sister was present during the incident and attempted to pull the dog off Suzanne but was unsuccessful.
Story is the mother of two teen daughters.
The dog was euthanized Thursday.
