When a woman came into Perth’s King Edward Memorial Hospital, doctors and staff were not fully prepared for what was about to happen during the birth of her child…
It wasn’t their first time delivering babies here; but this particular one was an astounding 40 lbs.!
According to a spokesperson, the baby remains in a healthy state despite its large size.
The mother’s delivery had to be done by caesarean section (‘c-section’) to help prevent any harm to her or her baby.
The doctor said, “I’ve dealt with other women suffering from obesity before but this birth will stick with me until I die. I truly believed there was two or even three babies in there, but no, it was just one big sturdy guy. He obviously has a career as a future rugby player!”
