Over the weekend, Amber Rose, a former stripper, held her SlutWalk event in Los Angeles that empowered women to be comfortable with their sexual freedom, protested against sexism and helped spread awareness about abuse. Many of the scantily dressed supporters held signs and shared empowering messages on social media during the so-called SlutWalk, which was aimed at addressing issues like sexual violence, victim blaming and gender inequality.

The 31-year-old star documented the protest on Instagram by sharing a series of snapshots throughout, including one of her mother holding a sign that read “F— Yo 30 Showers” in reference to Rose’s ex-boyfriend Kanye West once saying he “had to take 30 showers” after getting with her.
Rose had a moment to address to her supporters about a personal experience of being slut-shamed as a teen. She opened up about her story by mentioning two of her high profile relationships with ex-boyfriend Kanye West and her former husband Wiz Khalifa, who once rapped about ‘she was nothing but a stripper’.

During her speech, she got teary-eyed when explaining different incidents of slut-shaming by the two people she loved.
She says of her relationship with West:
“Unfortunately, I was extremely slut shamed. I was called ‘nothing but a stripper.’ [He said] why would he ever be interested in me, I’m just a bald-head stripper from Philly. I was a golddigger; apparently he had to take 30 showers after being with me. That’s what he said. I guess that just washed all my sexy bald-headedness off of his ass.”
Amber Rose runs a ‘non-profit Amber Rose Foundation’, that strives to create the discussion about women’s rights and equality.
SlutWalk is part of a larger movement to promote women’s rights. It began in 2011.
In August, Amber Rose and Black Chyna showed off body-hugging, nude-colored outfits emblazoned with smutty words, including “whore,” “slut” and “b—.”
“They call us sluts and whores all the time, so we just embrace it. I have slut written across my vagina…I wish I was a whore,” Rose told host Kelly Osbourne during the MTV pre-show.“My social life would be much more exciting.”
