A 13-year-old boy was hospitalized after being bitten by a shark at a Galveston beach in Texas on Monday morning.
The Galveston Island Beach Patrol says the incident happened about 10 a.m. Monday as the Odessa boy and his brother waded in waist-deep. When a school of fish swirled around their legs, followed by a 4-to-5-foot-long shark, the 13 year old boy got bitten by this shark.

It’s been reported that he boy’s injuries were not life- threatening, but the boy was bitten on the back of his foot. The boy was bandaged up and taken to the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston.
