Parents are concerned after learning that a gun made it into a second-grade classroom Friday at Ray V. Pottorf Elementary School in Fort Myers.
Why is this happening and whatever you do to keep guns from coming into our schools? No answers!
Parents are fed up after learning a gun was in a Fort Myers elementary school last week and was brought there by a second grader.
The district said that it all started before school last Friday. Students told administrators at Port of elementary they saw a fellow group of students playing with a handgun at their bus stop in Lehigh Acres. The second grade student with the gun, apparently, took it into class in his backpack thankfully though the gun was unloaded and we’re told the students offered the gun up as soon as he was asked about it.
Nevertheless, many parents are upset that it took several hours for them to learn about this incident at about 5:35 pm in the evening after schools closed.
