Julia Roberts is a full-time actress and a full-time mother, and she says ‘that’s more than enough’ for her.
In an interview with PEOPLE where she was promoting her upcoming film Secret in Their Eyes, Roberts revealed that she’s not in a rush to add “director” to her resumé.
“I would just never want to be that person, I get everybody out the door to school on time, clean, fed, happy. That’s directing a whole production right there.”
Roberts shares three kids with husband Danny Moder, who are parents to twins Phinnaeus and Hazel, 10, and Henry, 8 — also shares how being a full-time actress impacts her kids’ normal routine.
“Danny is very much a part of it so there’s only one little element gone — I like to think I’m an important element,” she says. “But the movie that I did with George [Clooney] and Jodie [Foster], I worked days and then was off days so I was back and forth a lot.“I mean, my daughter does refer to August: Osage County as the ‘dark time’ because it was the first time I had ever left.”
Roberts also opened up about working with her husband of 10 years, who was the cinematographer for Secret in Their Eyes.
“It was amazing. It was so great. He’s my favorite person on the planet so I love spending time with him and I love his work ethic. His point of view is really valuable to me,” she says.
