Kaley Cuoco: Actress’s Husband Ryan Sweeting Asks for Spousal Support in Divorce Filings, Reports Say
The professional tennis player reportedly filed the request on Oct. 15. Cuoco and Sweeting filed for divorce in September after 20 months of marriage.
Hollywood breakups are the hardest. There is no privacy, no place to grieve in private.
Sweeting, 28, is also requesting that the court’s ability to grant spousal support to Cuoco be terminated, according to the court documents obtained by PEOPLE.
Cuoco, 29, who married Sweeting on New Year’s Eve in 2013 after a whirlwind 3-month romance, filed for divorce on Sept. 3 citing irreconcilable differences. The couple did have a pre-nuptial agreement in place which they signed a month before tying the knot.
While a rep for the Big Bang Theory star told PEOPLE that the couple had”mutually decided” to split after just 21 months of marriage, a source said there was “noticeable tension” between the two before their divorce.
In Feb 2014, Kaley Cuoco Sweeting said on the Late Show with David Letterman
“We texted a little bit, dinner was great, and then he moved in the next day.”
They made it 21 months. I don’t know if she knew for a while or if she just didn’t want to know, but it seems the rumor mill was just rife with rumors that she and tennis star Ryan Sweeting were headed for divorce earlier this year. Back in April she said:
“So all of you who take it upon yourselves to trash our marriage, daily workings of our relationship and everything in between, go ahead and keep doing it, cause it only makes us stronger- if you were smart, you would take a look at your own marriage, relationship, job etc, instead of focusing on someone else’s. You might be surprised at what you find. You know my name, not my story.”
But wishing them both the time to heal and honor what was.
