The Duchess of Cambridge made her debut as the website’s guest editor on Wednesday with a post titled “Let’s Make a Real Difference for an Entire Generation of Young Children.”
Kensington Palace was turned into the Huffington Post UK newsroom today as The Duchess of Cambridge guest edited today’s #YoungMindsMatter edition highlighting children’s mental health issues.
Her Royal Highness discussed content for articles, blogs and videos that she had commissioned with charity representatives and reporters and edited HuffPost’s homepage before meeting children featured in a series of short film reports relating to mental health and emotional well-being.
A number of charities and organizations are supporting Young Minds Matter, including The Art Room, Mindfulness in Schools Project, Anna Freud, Place2Be, Young Minds, MIND and Chance UK.
The Duchess also enlisted a number of high profile people to blog and share their stories, including The First Lady, Michelle Obama, Sir Tony Hawkhead, CEO of Action for Children, Peter Wanless, Chief Executive of the NSPCC and President and Editor-in-Chief of The Huffington Post, Arianna Huffington.
This is a refreshing approach by the Duchess of Cambridge to the mental problems handed down to the vulnerable youth of today. Maybe her interest and involvement will encourage others to be aware of how children can be affected by the actions of others. We have to look forward to the future and protect the children of generations to come.
