For too long, the color “nude” has meant one thing in fashion: beige. This is an unfortunate fact for the many shoppers who were hoping to buy themselves nude lingerie or a pair of nude heels—only to realize the peachy color stood out on their not-so-beige skin, rather than blending in. Some designers have taken to addressing this issue. Just last year, Christian Louboutin launched a Nudes collection offering nude heels in a variety of hues. But two Harvard students are taking things a step further. Atima Lui and Nancy Madrid just founded their own fashion company, Mia Pielle, where they will curate women’s clothing and accessories in shades of nude that actually reflect their skin tones.
