What This Police Officer Did When a Boy Got Lost in a Crowd Is Going Viral

A Crowley police officer- David Taylor’s photo has quickly gone viral because of him carrying a young boy who lost his mother at the International Rice Festival in Crowley, LA, for 30 minutes until he found his way back to his mom.

A Texas resident Betty Thomas actually witnessed,

“We were walking through looking at things and we saw the police officer with the little boy that was lost.”

The most heartwarming part: the boy went to asleep in Officer Taylor’s arms. Thomas said she knows this is part of a police officer’s job, but it was still very touching to actually see it.

“Understand that he helped the little boy for quite a while until he found the mother and that was just really great to see. He was just showing him the sights and holding him and keeping him comfortable,” Thomas told KLFY’s Jazmin Thibodeaux.

Carolyn Senegal recently moved to Crowley from Lake Charles. She said it’s refreshing to see just a part of the true meaning of protecting and serving the community,

“I think it’s awesome because we hear so much negative things about our police officers today so I’m happy to say that I’ve seen something that’s a positive image. That’s an officer going above and beyond the call of duty.”

Chief K.P. Gibson said he is proud of Officer Taylor and all of his officers. Gibson wishes the public would see more of what he sees them do every day.

Officer Taylor declined to do an on-camera interview, but he did say he was just doing his job. But, he says,

“What I was doing is nothing different from the rest of our law enforcement colleagues. The only difference is that someone took a photo of me,”

We say thank you on behalf of every mom!
