What is Periscope?
Periscope is an app which provides instant, live-streaming video content that enables immediate, personal interaction between the “scoper” (the term for the person creating the video) and the person watching.
So, How’s it different than Youtube, Dailymotion, Vimeo, etc?
It’s this ease-of-use that’s bringing all the fitness buffs to the yard. It’s difficult to find good quality videos with relevant information on other video streaming websites, but its not so with Periscope.
It enables and encourages real-time, vocal interaction. So, for example, when fitness trainer creates a live Periscope workout, they’re actually doing the workout right then. They’re also reading the comments coming through to them in real time, often giving shout-outs and answers to those participating. Suddenly, the average “every woman” has instant access to the great wide world of high-end training and nutrition services. You can ask questions and get answers without paying a dime.
This social live streaming platform just made it easier to find and revisit broadcasts outside of its own app: Each and every Periscope user now has a home on the web that includes a basic profile as well as any active and recently-concluded live streams.
Awesome huh? It is

Periscope officially launched in March as a mobile-only live streaming app for iPhones. It followed up with an Android app in May, and added the ability to watch replays of past broadcasts on the desktop in June. Periscope still only keeps archived live streams for 24 hours, which means that the new web profiles only feature the most recent content of any broadcaster.
Periscope announced in August that it had surpassed 10 million registered users, and that it was streaming more than 350,000 hours of video every single day.
